Product details
The M5 Pro is the XC race model of the M Series, being fast and light, but also incredibly strong and supportive. ‘Pro’ signifies that this wheelset has been tested and raced by professional athletes across the globe, to develop a product proven in competition. The pros called for a racing wheelset that was less rigid than typical carbon models, to not only deliver speed but also enhanced ride quality and less rider fatigue. The M5 delivers exactly that.

Product DetailsThe front and rear rims are individually designed, with the front being wider and more compliant, so that it moulds to the ground and absorbs impact before it reaches the rider. The rear rim, meanwhile, is slightly narrower for effective power transfer and toughness. Both are incredibly durable and will give you the confidence to ride and race aggressively on rough, technical XC trails.

They're also both shallow, meaning increased vertical compliance for better shock absorption and a better balance of compliance, weight saving and reliability. Both front and rear rims use ENVE's wide hookless bead technology to protect against pinch flats. As the rear wheel often takes more shocks that the front, the rim bead on there is slightly wider, for an extra level of support.
The wheelset sheds weight without compromise by using smarter construction and carbon layup, as well as light but reliable hubs, spokes and nipples. For example, the use of alloy external nipples on this model shaves grams, but Nyloc thread-locking inserts ensure they will hold firm to keep the spokes tensioned and the wheels true, even on impact.

Compatibility with large volume tyres means it delivers traction and control when riding at speed, while the low pressure that you can run while set up tubeless provides lower rolling resistance and protection from flats.TM

 

Further protection is delivered by ENVE's own Wide Hookless Bead technology, which provides a teardrop shape to the rim specifically designed to absorb the impacts of gravel riding without pinching the tyre. The hookless rims with large internal widths are also lighter and achieve better aerodynamics, thanks to a clean transition between rim and tyre.Straight Pull Mountain Hub, with its oversized ratchet drive system and 80 tooth ratchet (as standard) to ensure reliable engagement at 4.5°. This provides greater efficiency and is low maintenance, yet easily serviceable. Its premium grade, full stainless steel bearings reduce drag, while its Perfect Preload system in turn prolongs the life of those bearings.

Another ENVE hallmark is the moulded spoke holes which, unlike with drilled holes, maximise the strength of the carbon, since it's never cut. The quality of this design is down to ENVE's in-house expertise, with all rims being made by hand at ENVE HQ in Ogden, Utah, USA.The wheelset delivers 43% more impact resistance and 23% more pinch flat resistance than its predecessor, the M525, despite being lighter. ENVE's team could have cut the weight further, had they chosen to, but they found the new M5 Pro offered the perfect performance, ride and durability to be what they've termed ‘real-world tough’.

The Factory Limited Warranty protects buyers for five years from defects in material and workmanship, while the Incidental Damage Protection gives protection from damage caused to their wheels while riding, crashing or transporting bikes.Designed to go far and fast, it offers a smooth ride without scrimping on speed and holds the trail brilliantly, while offering you great protection against flats.
